About Us

Nicholas Maryns
Co-Founder and Managing Director
Nick is particularly passionate about helping nonprofits, foundations, and government use evidence-based approaches to uncover insights and drive continuous improvement. An educator at heart, Nick uses his experience as a writer and graphic designer to illuminate complex ideas through simple, intuitive design that engages an array of audiences.
Prior to InsightWorks, Nick served as the Associate Director of the Governor’s Workforce Development Council. Nick facilitated the Council's policy development initiatives and coordinated strategic projects across state agencies, while handling research, writing, and strategic communications. He oversaw the Council’s Net Impact Initiative, which developed a performance evaluation framework for workforce education and training programs and contributed to policy efforts that helped make such evaluations mandatory for the sake of program improvement.
Prior to the GWDC, Nick was a fellow at the Congressional Hunger Center in Washington, DC and a two-year AmeriCorps volunteer with College Possible at Patrick Henry High School in north Minneapolis. He graduated summa cum laude with distinction in Mathematics from St. Olaf College and holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
